Overview
Inabia is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) / AWS Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated AWS data pipelines supporting analytics, KPI reporting, and business intelligence. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong experience with AWS data services, Python, SQL, ETL, and REST API integrations. The ideal candidate combines deep data engineering capabilities with sufficient business intelligence experience to understand how data will ultimately be consumed by business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS data pipelines.
- Develop automated ETL/ELT processes using AWS-native services.
- Integrate data from multiple REST APIs, SaaS applications, and enterprise systems.
- Work with Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Redshift and/or Athena, Lambda, and IAM.
- Develop Python-based data ingestion, transformation, and automation processes.
- Write advanced SQL for data transformation, validation, modeling, and analysis.
- Build integrations with platforms such as Jira, Smartsheet, Qualtrics, or similar enterprise tools.
- Develop analytical datasets supporting operational reporting and business KPIs.
- Design and maintain dashboards using Tableau, Amazon QuickSight, Power BI, or similar BI tools.
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define KPIs, reporting requirements, and data definitions.
- Implement data quality, monitoring, security, and access-control practices.
- Apply data governance principles including IAM policies, access controls, and data-retention requirements.
- Troubleshoot pipeline, API integration, performance, and data-quality issues.
- Document data sources, integrations, transformations, dependencies, and reporting logic.
Key Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Strong hands-on AWS data engineering experience.
- Proficiency with Amazon S3 and AWS Glue/ETL.
- Experience with Amazon Redshift and/or Athena.
- Experience with AWS Lambda and IAM.
- Advanced SQL skills for transformation, modeling, and validation.
- Strong Python development skills applied to data engineering and automation.
- Proven track record building and maintaining automated data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience integrating multiple REST APIs or SaaS applications, including JSON handling, authentication, pagination, and error management.
- Experience defining or supporting business KPIs and analytical datasets.
- Experience with Tableau, Amazon QuickSight, Power BI, or a comparable BI/dashboard platform.
- Understanding of data governance, security, access controls, and data-retention requirements.
- Ability to work onsite in Redmond, WA, five days per week.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct REST API integration experience with Jira, Smartsheet, or Qualtrics.
- Proficiency across multiple BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, QuickSight, and Power BI).
- Experience consolidating data from multiple enterprise systems into centralized analytical datasets.
- Background working in large enterprise or consulting environments.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business stakeholder reporting requirements into technical data solutions.
