Position Summary
We are seeking a Health & Safety Engineer to support the daily Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) functions at a manufacturing facility in Bloomsburg, PA. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, reducing workplace risks, preventing injuries, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain systems that drive regulatory compliance, injury prevention, and risk reduction.
Partner with manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering teams to support health and safety initiatives.
Analyze injury and incident data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
Lead or participate in incident investigations, perform root cause analyses, and recommend preventive measures.
Manage the site's industrial hygiene program, including exposure monitoring, sampling plans, and employee exposure records.
Support hazardous material management and industrial ventilation programs.
Evaluate and manage personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
Assist with health and safety audits and ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations, including OSHA requirements.
Develop and deliver health and safety training programs.
Conduct workplace risk assessments and collaborate with employees to implement effective controls.
Track safety metrics, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports.
Support Human Performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Stay current with industry regulations, standards, and best practices through ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 1 year of professional Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Experience working with OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety programs.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related discipline.
3+ years of Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience implementing and maintaining health and safety programs.
Industrial Hygiene experience.
Experience with Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs.
Ergonomic assessment experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Experience using Power BI or advanced Excel analytics.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $65,000–$75,000
