Senior Physical Security Access Control (PACS) Consultant, AMAG Symmetry
Overview
Inabia is seeking a Senior Physical Security Access Control (PACS) Consultant with deep, hands-on expertise in AMAG Symmetry to provide technical leadership for a 12-month contract engagement in Charlotte, NC. In this hybrid role, the consultant will drive the implementation, integration, upgrade, and ongoing support of an enterprise physical access control platform supporting critical facilities across a large, multi-site environment. The ideal candidate brings at least 10 years of enterprise PACS experience and a proven ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, physical security teams, vendors, and system integrators to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the implementation, integration, upgrade, and support of an enterprise Physical Access Control System.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for AMAG Symmetry architecture, administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Design and support PACS components including badge management, access provisioning, alarms, readers, controllers, field control panels, application servers, and databases.
- Work with vendors and system integrators to confirm that technical designs meet business, security, availability, and support requirements.
- Support highly available, multi-site PACS environments operating across critical facilities.
- Lead or support AMAG Symmetry upgrades, migrations, patches, system testing, and production deployments.
- Design and support integrations between the PACS platform and Active Directory, human resources systems, identity-management platforms, databases, and enterprise APIs.
- Troubleshoot complex application, database, integration, hardware, and field-device issues.
- Support Microsoft SQL Server databases used by the PACS environment.
- Develop architecture diagrams, configuration documentation, operating procedures, support runbooks, and disaster-recovery documentation.
- Participate in incident response and provide technical support during critical system events.
- Communicate technical risks, dependencies, recommendations, and project status to technical and business stakeholders.
- Help establish operational standards for monitoring, security, maintenance, backup, recovery, and ongoing platform support.
Key Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience implementing, upgrading, supporting, or administering enterprise Physical Access Control Systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with AMAG Symmetry, including administration, implementation, upgrades, configuration, integrations, and production troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of enterprise PACS architecture and supporting infrastructure.
- Experience with badge management, access provisioning, alarms, readers, controllers, and field control panels.
- Experience supporting highly available, multi-site physical security systems.
- Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience.
- Experience with enterprise application integrations, APIs, and identity-management technologies.
- Experience working directly with PACS vendors, implementation partners, and system integrators.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate and resolve complex production issues.
- Strong technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Charlotte, NC per the project schedule and to support critical incidents as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing or supporting AMAG Symmetry in a large enterprise environment.
- Experience supporting physical security systems within the utility, energy, critical infrastructure, or other regulated industries.
- Experience with Active Directory, HR-system, and identity-management integrations.
- Knowledge of high-availability design, disaster recovery, database resilience, and centralized system management.
- Experience working with cloud technologies or hybrid infrastructure supporting enterprise security platforms.
- Relevant AMAG Symmetry training or certifications.
