Job Title:                         Confluent Kafka Platform Engineer
Location:                         Irvine, CA
Job Mode:                       Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite
Visa Restriction:            Open to all visas except H1-T, OPT, CPT, F1, and STEM.
Type/Duration:               Contract – 0 to 17 months, with potential extension

Mandatory Skills:
  • Proficiency with the Confluent Event Streaming Platform (Confluent Kafka/Confluent Cloud Platform)
  • Experience with KSQL DB and Schema Registry
  • Expertise in Kafka Connectors
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
Must-Have Skills:
  1. Deep knowledge of the Confluent Event Streaming Platform (Confluent Kafka/Confluent Cloud Platform).
  2. Hands-on experience with KSQL DB.
  3. Strong understanding of Schema Registry and Kafka Connectors.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years with Confluent Event Streaming Platform (Confluent Kafka/Confluent Cloud platform); hands-on experience with KSQL DB, Schema registry and Kafka connectors.
  • Ability to lead design and implement Kafka based streaming and messaging solutions across on-prem and Confluent Cloud platform and provide technical direction.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka Brokers and understanding of underlying functionality.
  • Hands-on experience with Schema Registry and understanding of underlying functionality and understanding of underlying implementation.
Responsibilities:
  • Create guidelines, procedures, and best practices for Kafka administration, development teams, and establish standards and conventions for the use of Kafka.
  • Good understanding of Kafka client (Producer and Consumer) functionality.
  • Guide and support upgrade/maintenance of Confluent Kafka platform from current version to latest release.
  • Support enhancements to confluent cloud clusters.
  • Collaborate among development teams, product managers, operations teams, and architect groups to integrate Kafka into applications and data pipelines.
  • Good understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles and methodologies; able to learn and adapt to new developments in the Kafka ecosystem.
  • Some weekend work to support Production Changes and major Incidents Escalations.
